Thornhill Jamboree 2003
Brought to you by
Linda Francey

No pics from these two events - too busy dancin'!

Thornhill, Ont, September 27th, 2003

The one day Line Dance Craze Jamboree event hosted annually by Director Linda Francey was all that and more!  Most of the local instructors have guest slots in the crammed pack day of lessons. Included were: Linda, Michele Gilliland, Frank Cooper, Robert Fielder, Cathy Montgomery, Val Keller, Bunny Burton, Jillian Tosky, Carmen Mah, Yvonne Tam, Diane Bishop, Gloria Kitchner, Fred Buckly, Trish Fountain, Marlene MAskell, Deb Wilcox, Vivienne Scott, & me - I got to be the Michigan contigient :)  Lynn Warden during the day along with Jenny Lyness handled the DJ duties for us.

For a complete listing and pictures check out Vivienne Scott's site @ www.stayinline.ca

There were tons of dances taught during the day. Many choreographed by local talents, along with a nice variety of stuff from universally recognized names.

Turnout looked to be dandy to me in spite of the holiday.  We got to dance n play with folks we see all the time - folks we see some of the time - and folks we don't usually see out n about at workshops & dances.  All n all it made for a loverly fun filled day.

Lots of lessons for cheap too! $20 Canadian for an early advance pass, which included the dancing at night.  Can't go wrong like that.  The range was mostly high beg/low intermediate, with a few harder ones and a few newcomer dances thrown in to offer sumpin for evyone.  Class were fun, the facility is too cool!

Canada has the best local Community Centres around!  This one had everything from hockey rinks - to pools - to the public library - it was HUGE!  I even got a lil tour of the place as an added bonus ;)  Every town I've ever happened upon in Canada has a rockin' community Centre - lucky them!

I'm looking fwd to next year's annual event.  Thanks to Linda and all the instructors, DJs, & staff and dancers for making it such a fine dance day!  See ya there next September.

Michigan Ohio Kountry Kickers Fall Workshop

Kountry Kicker's annual fall workshop made for a loverly way to spend a Saturday.  This was my first visit to their home town floor.  What a cool place!  Very country in atmosphere, huge wood floor, nice lay out, it even has a practice floor off to the corner.

Early Reg was $26.00 for non-members which included workshops, lunch, step books, and the evening dance.

Instructors included: me, Jeanette Hall, Dick & Sandra Sharp, Sally Shock, Sherry Sutton, & Fran Yeager

Dances taught were:  Goody Two Shoes, Five O'Clock Somewhere, When I Leave, Wanna Be Me, Dance To The Music, Cool Whip, The Pretzel Dance, Watch Me Now, Meowzaa, & Bucklehuck.

Mary Jane Olmsby was our event director and did a  great job with each and every detail.  From slotting the lessons, to lunch, to the evening dance playlist.  She sure knows how to make a list and check it twice ;)

All the dances were well recieved throughout the day and danced during open dance at night.  As were requests and local faves from that area.

Me n the gang (thanks for coming) had a dandy time - like always the last to leave the building dancing up to the very end.  Thanks for the hospitality and the warm welcome, along with having me out!  What fun!  Hope to see ya there next October!
